Jul 06, 2011 None of these tools would allow you to grind in a veeeery tight place. Go to your local welding supply store and ask for the carbide bits. They're about $18 each. You could even grind inside a 1/4" hole if you had the urge. They're the only tool I'd use to remove a bead such as you've shown in the pic without worrying about bitting the surround ...

I started off with a drill, going straight through the spot welds (of which there were about one hundred), and using a narrow chisel and light hammering to remove the stubborn bits. Some of them are a bit messy, but can be fixed with a pool weld in the hole.

Jul 29, 2013 It doesn’t remove the weld like the others, but separates the weld from the surrounding metal. After removing the panel you simply grind the weld off that is left with a little angle grinder or similar tool. Other than a spot weld drill you can also use a cut off disc in a die grinder for removing spot welds. (photo #25)
Jun 28, 2021 For something like that I would use a 9" grinder with a rubber backed sanding disk- 80 grit. If there are any bad high spots on the weld take it down first with the 4 1/2 or 5" grinder. Hold the 9" as flat as possible to the metal. I have 4 or 5 9" grinders and use them alot for this type of thing.
